Shield Wall System
The ShieldWall system creates the optimal combination of high puncture protection and good glide with minimal weight. This is made possible by an additional puncture protection layer consisting of a fine cross weave. This makes the tyre highly resistant to punctures and injuries. Despite the additional layer, the tyre has excellent cushioning properties and a high degree of flexibility to adapt perfectly to the surface. Another feature of the ShieldWall system in our Performance products is Tubeless Ready. The revolutionary Tubeless Ready base allows for easy and simple tyre fitting. For optimal sealing and application results, we recommend using the new Continental RevoSealant sealant.

PureGrip Compound
The PureGrip Compound is derived from an activated silica compound and is a good example of how Continental continuously integrates customer feedback into its research and development. This compound technology perfectly complements the BlackChilli compound. The name PureGrip says it all. This compound is characterised by excellent grip and durability. Continental uses PureGrip for its high-performance products in road and mountain bikes.

TR Tubeless Ready
Specially developed for mountain biking, an additional layer of full puncture protection makes our casings especially resistant and insensitive to damage and penetration by foreign bodies. We combined ProTection and BlackChili Compound to achieve the ultimate. The result: your tyres are versatile, lightweight and attractively designed. In addition, tyres with this technology can also be used tubeless.
